Dynamite where made to battle hard against the conditions and a hard working Alpha Taxis team, running out 5-1 winners.

While hoping to keep their current form ticking over Dynamite had to dig deep, Alpha Taxis who only had 11 players(and 1 goal net!) deserve credit for that.

Father and son think futsal could be the solution to England’s football future! But they need local teams to join an under 10s futsal league…

What

Mark Laughton (38) and his son Jacob (9) are both involved with futsal coaching in North East Lincolnshire.

Since September 2011 Mark has been the volunteer assistant futsal coach alongside Kevin Bryant, the well known futsal organiser. Kevin started an under 10s training session at the Peaks Lane YMCA Hostel earlier in the year, and Mark’s son Jacob joined the group in May.

The under 10s session attracted some older young people, and lead to an under 13s coaching session now every Thursday 5.30pm to 6.30pm, and a YMCA team in the U13s Community Futsal League.

Jacob (9) has made some important contributions to the under 13s team despite his age, but as reported in a previous article the under 10s team need opposition now. Kevin and Mark hope to be able to set up an under 10s league as early in the new year as possible. Do you have a team ready for their futsal challenge?

  When

The YMCA under 10s train every Saturday, 9am to 10am at The YMCA Peaks Lane

TWO GOAL JACK BOSWELL

By Colts standards a scrappy game, not that the players was to blame, a strong wind, low sun and poor pitch, and dogged opponents conspired to spoil the game.

It would have been easy to go long ball, but that’s not the Colts philosophy, Colts pass their way to victory, the way they have been coached.

An early goal settled any nerves against a team with a great defensive record; they had not conceded more than three in any game until today. The goal was made and scored by top scorer Jamie Loftus, chasing a lost cause he robbed the defender and drove on to volley home.  Centre back Jamie Caines volleyed home a half cleared corner to show the forwards that he was more than just a redoubtable defender.  A couple of hit posts were it for the first half, 2-0.

GSC U11 Rangers went into their game with first placed Clee Town with a fully fit squad to choose from; in blustery conditions they took early control of the game with Alfie Usher and Declan Holt in the centre of the park. The first really good chance saw Usher send a through ball for striker Ollie Gaunt, but he failed to connect properly and it was easily saved by the Clee keeper. GSC was playing some nice football in absolutely terrible conditions with Clee relying on their number 9 to do all there attacking. When he did get through goalkeeper Tyler Denson handled competently when the defence was breached. On twenty six minutes GSC took the lead a pinpoint through ball by Usher was latched onto by striker Tom Darwood who raced clear and drew the keeper before sliding the ball home.

DYLAN LAWNS - 5 GOALS!!

Having walked 12PM across Haverstoe Park pitches I was surprised to learn that Novartis was anticipated playable, referee decision being final.

The game was played; GSC under twelve Colts running out comfortable winners; 9-0 at half time ending 14-0.  From a Colts point of view the game was a pleasing success, not for the big score, but because the players put into practise the Friday night coaching session.  A session based on getting full backs; when they have the ball; to push on past the winger and get involved  in dangerous attacking areas.  The back three then moving across to cover the full back in event the move breaks down.  Would it work as well against teams higher in league? I am sure it would; the tactic is  used by Premier teams; for youngsters its about instilling the confidence to try.  Winning and improving gives a far greater satisfaction than winning just because you have collected the better players.

The Colts team play far more passes in a game than I have seen from any team of a comparable age, the ball will travel from back to front in methodical fashion, short, long, changes of direction, its all there.  The challenge is to keep progressing, play even more football.  To score the perfect goal (all 11 players to have passed the ball).

JAYDEN LALAND - OFF THE MARK

To date every member of the squad (excluding keeper Tom) has scored, defender Jayden Laland breaking his duck was mobbed by delighted team mates, and then for good measure added a second.

Thanks to our opponents Solar Bears, turning out 14 players on a cold day when you are the wrong end of the league, and statistically know you are going to lose takes a lot of ‘bottle’.  Solar won in their own way.

Pinchbeck travelled from Peterborough to fulfil this third round County Cup match played at Novartis sports ground.

The game opened with Pinchbeck going close twice in the first minutes, a warning that this was going to be no walk over game.  Both chances was from through balls that eluded the back four, Keeper Tom came out to save the first, the second looked to be in his grasp when the forward went for the ball that broke free leaving an open goal chance; fortunately the referee saw the foul.  Interspersed Colts had chances of their own, chances created with a little more football than their more direct opponents.

As the half progressed Colts got more into the game attacking wise, the midfield area remained an evenly contested area whilst defensively the battle was being won.

Half time 0-0.

100 GOAL MAN

Congratulations from all at GSC – a great achievment.

Dynamite shrugged off 4 weeks’ worth of selection boxes and staying in bed till after dinner with a resounding 10 nil victory over Solar Bears.

As anticipated Dynamite began sluggishly and the opening exchanges of the game where scrappy. Dynamite look a different team when they can involve their wingers and eventually they did, Ryan Jackson and Ben Smith looked the most likely to set the game alight with superb wing play. Dynamite still needed to be focused at the back as the search for the elusive clean sheet continued into 2012.

2-0 up at half time with goals coming from Ryan Jackson and Charlie Parker. Charlie’s goal put him on 99 for the club in little over 2 seasons. Half time consisted of asking the players to keep discipline and choreography for Charlie’s 100th goal celebrations!
